Hospice Care Is More Than You Think
Hospices across the UK provide compassionate, expert care to people living with life limiting conditions – whether on the wards, in the community, or in their own homes. Hospice Care Week is a national opportunity to shine a light on the breadth and depth of support available, and to challenge perceptions of what hospice care really means, working tirelessly to make sure that those people are comfortable and can live well with their conditions.

During Hospice Care Week (6-12 October 2025), Compton Care teams were out and about in the community, speaking to members of the public about the specialist services available, which are provided free of charge to patients and loved ones.
There are still many misconceptions about what hospice care is and who it’s for. People often think it’s only about end of life care, but it’s so much more than that.
Here at Compton, we want to break down barriers and bust some myths by having open, honest conversations with our local communities.
Hospice care is about living well, with dignity and support, and we’re here to help people understand that. We’re looking forward to talking to members of the public about our specialist services during this week, so please come and say hello to our teams.
We are also encouraging people to share their feedback with us about what they know about us and the specialist palliative and bereavement support services we provide by completing a short survey.
