Schools & Community Groups Programme

A core part of Trail of the Dragons is inspiring young minds, nurturing creativity, and creating a legacy that lives on through our younger generation.

We are delighted to invite schools and community groups to take part in Compton Care’s Trail of the Dragons Programme – an inspiring creative opportunity that puts young people at the heart of a spectacular public art event.

The Schools and Community Groups Programme gives your school or group the chance to design and decorate your very own baby dragon sculpture, which will be displayed as part of the public Trail of the Dragons. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity to thousands of visitors, while helping to raise awareness of – and vital funds for – Compton Care, supporting people and families living with life limiting conditions. Why a dragon?

The dragon reflects the heart of Compton Care’s mission and the spirt of Wolverhampton. A dragon’s strength mirrors the resilience we help patients and families find, even in the hardest moments. Its sense of protection represents the safe, supportive care we provide, surrounding people with comfort, dignity, and reassurance. Dragons also symbolise guidance, reflecting how our specialist teams walk alongside families with compassion and expertise.

Their associations with hope and prosperity echo our commitment to improving quality of life and bringing light into challenging times. And just as Wolverhampton continues to grow as a transformational city, the dragon’s spirit of transformation reflects the meaningful emotional journeys our patients experience with our support.

Exclusive Auction

The trail will conclude with an exclusive auction, where every dragon will spread its wings for a final time before finding a new home, raising vital funds for Compton Care’s specialist support for people living with life limiting conditions.

This is your chance to help shape a landmark cultural moment for Wolverhampton – and to let your brand breathe a little fire of its own.

A Wild in Art Event

In partnership with Wild in Art, this vibrant and imaginative trail will bring people together – families, schools, community groups and visitors from far and wide. As the dragons land across the city, they’ll spark joy, drive footfall, celebrate local culture and shine a spotlight on the vital care provided by Compton Care.
