Key skills:
- Retail
- Business
- Income Generation
My relationship with Compton Care is a deeply personal one, officially beginning in 2013 when I was asked to come on board as a Director of the Retail Trading Division. However, my family’s connection with Compton was established many years before by my beloved mother Denise, who was a volunteer at the main site store for over 30 years.
Within three years of each other, both my Mom and Sister Jannine spent their final days being cared for by the wonderful team on the Inpatient Unit. My vow to give something back was a result of this incredibly tough and sad period, which was made more bearable by such a peaceful and unparalleled time at the hospice.
Having had first-hand experience of the fantastic work that Compton offers, not only with their first-class palliative care, but also the off-site support services out in the local community, I am both honoured and committed as a Trustee to ensuring that our great organisation continues this work for future generations.

Key skills:
- Nursing
- Leadership
- Coaching
I am delighted to be a member of the Compton family. As an experienced nurse in the NHS, I often felt frustrated at the way in which we cared for patients requiring palliative care as quite often it lacked that individual approach which can result in people feeling marginalised and afraid. At Compton Care, the emphasis is on the individual and their families to ensure their experience is the best it can be. The whole organisation is clearly cited on this, not just the clinical staff but everyone. The service delivered at Compton Care is invaluable and I feel privileged that I am able to contribute.
