Palliative Care Social Work

How can we help?

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Living with a life limiting condition can impact on many aspects of your life, including areas that you wouldn’t necessarily expect or think of yourself.

A Compton Care Social Worker can support with the practical support and advice you need to support to both you, your family and those you are close to, so that you can continue to live the best life possible and advocate on your behalf to ensure that the needs you have are met.

Some examples of this include:

  • Support to arrange practical help of a care package at home through social services
  • Signposting so that you may access benefits
  • Advice around debt or income maintenance
  • Help with housing
  • Working with schools or employers to offer further support

We can also support with funeral planning, offer advice about funding care home placements, signpost for legal advice and help to fill in forms.

The team will work around your commitments to offer support at a time that is most convenient to you. We give you time and a safe space to talk about things that are important to you and to ask questions.
