New Palliative Care Clinic in Low Hill

We are delighted that our new second site at the former Ruskin Road GP Practice in Low Hill is now open, enabling more people in the local community living with a life limiting condition to access the expert care and support they need.

This exciting new development, at 30-32 Ruskin Road, will enable us to deliver more of our specialist services locally, making them more accessible to the communities who need us and help prevent long journeys to our main site in Compton for people living in this area of the city.

Specialist Palliative Care Services

The new centre will provide a range of expert services for patients and their loved ones under Compton’s care. This includes a Palliative Care Outpatient Clinic, designed to enhance the quality of life for patients with serious, life limiting illnesses by managing symptoms and providing emotional and practical support.

In addition to the high quality, essential clinical care delivered at our dedicated facilities or in the community in people’s homes, we also offer a wide range of enhanced care services including Psychological Support therapies and complementary therapies that support patients and families through every aspect of their palliative care journey and beyond. These services will also be available from our new facility in Low Hill.

Staffed by a team of health care professionals, the services available from Ruskin Road also include a Lymphoedema Clinic, bereavement support and counselling, including dedicated support for children and young people who have a family member who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. In addition, art therapy and complementary therapies are also available, which are used alongside conventional medical treatment to improve a patient’s physical and emotional health.

The charity’s services are available free of charge to people aged 18 or over, and their families, living in Wolverhampton, parts of the Black Country (Walsall and Dudley), South Staffordshire and east Shropshire.
