We have launched our annual Light up a Life Appeal to support people in the local community this Christmas. Light up a Life is an opportunity to remember someone special while making a difference to those facing life limiting illnesses.

People are being encouraged to make a dedication in memory of a loved one and to donate to support our vital work providing specialist palliative and bereavement support. Dedications will be proudly displayed in the our online book of remembrance over the festive period.

We are also hosting our Light up a Life event again this year, where people can come together to reflect, remember and celebrate loved ones. The event takes place from 12.30pm on Sunday 8 December at Compton Hall in Compton.

Lee Newman, Head of Fundraising at Compton Care, said: “Light up a Life is a very special appeal that encourages the community to come together and remember loved ones at this poignant time of year, while at the same time helping us to provide expert care and compassion to patients and families when they need it most.

“We’d love to see people at our annual Light up a Life event, gathered around our beautiful Christmas tree with lights shining in memory of loved ones and enjoying the seasonal activities and refreshments. The event is open to all and serves as a beautiful symbol of love, hope, and remembrance for those who attend.”

This December, we are expecting to be caring for more than 1,300 people across its range of services, available to those living in Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffs and east Shropshire.

Lee continues: “We couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of the local community, and we would like to thank everyone who is able to make a donation for helping us to be there for our patients and their loved ones at Christmas, but also long into the future.”
