Specialist palliative and bereavement support provider, Compton Care, is looking forward to the return of its exciting charity cycle event taking place on Sunday, 17 May, and is offering a £5 early bird discount.

Starting from Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club in Kingswinford, Cycle for Compton offers three exciting new routes to choose from, including an exhilarating off-road option.

The Short Route is a 44-mile ride through the beautiful scenery of Pattingham, Coalbrookdale and Bridgnorth. The Long Route is a 90-mile challenge and will take seasoned cyclists through Ryton, Church Stretton, Bridgnorth and Claverley. And for those who prefer off-road thrills, there is a 40-mile route taking in the trails around the Severn Valley Railway, Jack Mytton Way and Dudmaston. The event is open to both pedal and e-bikes, and participants aged 14+ are welcome (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).

Cycling legend and Compton Patron Hugh Porter MBE along with Compton Ambassador Brendon Turner, no stranger to cycling challenges as founder of the Lord Bilston Big Challenge, helped to launch the event today.

Cyclists are encouraged to raise much needed funds for the charity which supports local people living with life limiting conditions through its range of specialist services. Compton provides clinical care on its Inpatient Unit and supports patients out in the community, providing expert care in the place they call home. Patients’ families also have access to the charity’s services and bereavement support.
