Local charity celebrates the people making a difference this Volunteers’ Week
Specialist palliative and bereavement support provider, Compton Care, is proudly celebrating its incredible volunteers during Volunteers’ Week, a nationwide campaign running from 1 to 7 June.
Every month, hundreds of kind-hearted and dedicated individuals give their time, skills and experience to support the charity and make a difference in their communities for those living with life limiting conditions.
Rachel Overfield, Chief Executive Officer at Compton Care, said: “We are incredibly grateful to every one of our wonderful volunteers for the fantastic work they do each and every day. They bring such a diverse range of skills and experience and play a key role in helping us to deliver our full range of specialist services to support our local communities. Our volunteers are essential to the care and support we provide; quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.
“Each and every volunteer makes a meaningful difference, whether that’s helping in our vibrant stores and cafes, supporting our fundraising events, providing a warm welcome to our visitors, or sitting gently alongside someone offering comfort and support.”
With Volunteers’ Week being celebrated across the UK, the charity is also taking the opportunity to highlight the many benefits of volunteering, while raising awareness of the wide range of opportunities available for those looking to get involved.
Rachel continued: “Whether you’re looking to build confidence, gain valuable experience for your CV, or simply looking give something back, there’s a place for you at Compton Care. We have exciting opportunities in the heart of our communities supporting our retail stores, hospitality roles in our cafes and coffee shops, and for those green-fingered folk out there we’re always looking for people to tend our beautiful grounds.
“We provide full training and support for all our volunteers, helping you develop new skills, form lasting friendships, and make a real difference in your local community. Join us and be part of something truly meaningful.”
