Celebrating our volunteers during Volunteers’ Week
We’re celebrating our amazing volunteers during Volunteers’ Week, a nationwide campaign which runs from 3 to 9 June.
Rachel Overfield, Chief Executive Officer at Compton Care, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful band of volunteers who collectively provide thousands of hours of support each month. Each and every one of them plays a key role in helping us deliver our full range of specialist services to support our local communities.
“With Volunteers’ Week being celebrated across the UK, it gives us the chance to not only thank those people who are already kindly giving their time to support the charity but also to recruit some new volunteers.
“Volunteering has many benefits, including obtaining new skills, meeting new people and playing a role in helping make a huge difference to the lives of the people we care for and their families.”
Among the wide range of volunteer roles available here at Compton Care are retail positions in our shops across the region, roles in catering and gardening and various other exciting opportunities throughout the organisation.
We are also currently recruiting for an Associate Trustee to join our Board. Rachel added: “Our Board of Trustees are also volunteers and they generously give their time and share their expertise to support Compton in making a difference. This role is ideal for aspirational individuals looking to make their first move into the ‘non-exec’ arena, who could bring their skills and passion to support the provision of accessible, innovative, influential care that creates excellent experiences for people in our community.”
