Celebrate loved ones, life and community at the Compton Care Sunset Stroll
Specialist palliative and bereavement support provider, Compton Care, is inviting people to take a Sunset Stroll this autumn to celebrate loved ones, life and community, while raising vital funds for local people living with life limiting conditions.
The uplifting evening takes place on Saturday 17 October in the beautiful surroundings of Weston Park in Shropshire. Walkers can choose between a 5km and 10km route and, as the sun begins to set, enjoy a relaxed stroll with family and friends, taking time to connect, celebrate, and appreciate moments that matter.
Participants are invited to remember their loved ones with a ‘Walking In Memory’ back sign to decorate and wear with pride and nominate a special song to be played in their memory, helping to create a soundtrack filled with precious memories throughout the evening. Each walker will also receive a commemorative Sunset Stroll medal as a lasting keepsake of the special evening.
Celebrated DJ Niel Jackson will keep the energy high with music, games and entertainment for all the family. Once the walk is complete, guests can relax and refuel in the event village, where there will be delicious hot food and drinks on offer, a raffle and tombola as well as the charity’s popular ‘Shop at The Hall’ store. For those seeking a quieter moment, Compton’s specialist Bereavement and Counselling team will be available for support.
Early bird tickets for this heartwarming event are £15 per adult and £12 per child if booked before Friday 4 September. Walkers can also purchase exclusive Sunset Stroll t-shirts ahead of the event.
Community and Events Fundraiser at Compton Care, Sally Woods, said: “The Compton Care Sunset Stroll is all about walking side by side with friends, family and fellow supporters, sharing smiles and making memories all while raising vital funds for local people who need our care and support.
“Whether you’re walking in memory of someone special, celebrating the people who mean the most to you, or simply enjoying a magical autumn evening together, Sunset Stroll offers a chance to reflect, connect and make memories that will last long after the sun has set.
“Our Sunset Stroll is open to everyone, whether or not you have a connection to Compton Care, and we’re looking forward to welcoming families, friends, colleagues and even four-legged companions to be part of this special evening.”
Walkers are encouraged to raise much-needed funds for Compton Care, helping the charity continue to support local people living with life limiting conditions through its range of specialist services. Compton provides expert clinical care on its Inpatient Unit and in the community, supporting patients in the place they call home. Families and loved ones can also access the charity’s bereavement and counselling support services.
