Pam’s Story

Long-time Compton supporters, the Badham family, recently organised a 10k sponsored walk around West Park, Wolverhampton, in memory of Surinder.

The event took place on 18th August, Surinder’s birthday and saw family and friends take to the park for their 3rd annual walk.

Pam Badhan said of her Mom “Mom had Motor Neurone Disease and used to attend the day centre once a week. When she was unable to attend, someone used to come out and see her at home.”

“They supported my Dad through her illness as she was still living with him at our family home and continued to support him and the rest of the family through their bereavement.”

The family have been doing the 10k walk since August 2017.

“We will do this walk every year on Mom’s birthday to remember her and raise money for a charity that helped her through such a difficult illness.

“At times, as a family we would become weak, but she always reassured us that she was okay, so we could find the strength to carry on every day.

“She was a strong and courageous woman, the backbone of the Badhan family.”

On the most recent 10k walk, the Badhan family raised an incredible £703, funding the equivalent of 5 visits from a Compton Care Healthcare Assistant to a patient receiving our care whilst staying in the comfort of their own home.

A huge thank you to the Badhan family for their continued support. You are all extraordinary!
