Our supporters at Pensionlite are gearing up for their 5th challenge as part of the ’12 months of charity’ initiative, raising funds for Compton amongst other local charities.
James, Marketing Manager at Pensionlite told us “Our founder Andy Hawthorne was someone who took great pride in building charitable partnerships and regularly helped to organise events within the community.
“As well as Lingen Davies, Hope House, Severn Hospice and Jayne Sargent Foundation; Compton Care takes a special place as they looked after Andy. It was only right that we should recognise the great work they do.”
Staff at Pensionlite have been embarking on a different challenge every month, a collective decision made by the team as a way of celebrating Andy’s life throughout the course of the year.
“The idea of continuing Andy’s charitable work within the local community was always something we wanted to carry on.
“It was also important to raise awareness of all the charities involved with each one having a close connection to the business – there is no doubt he would be incredibly proud of everyone who has contributed to the cause so far.”
Pensionlite kick started their ’12 months of charity’ with a 24 hour ‘rowathon’ held at their offices, with members of the Pensionlight team alongside volunteers from the charities taking to the rowing machines.
Since then, a charity bake off, ‘Moving March’ and a hike across the Long Mynd have followed with a coast to coast cycle next on the agenda.
“At the start of the year we set a target of £5,000 and we are almost half way to reaching that. If we could double that amount it would be an amazing achievement for all involved.”
Thank you to the team at Pensionlite, your support in raising both awareness of and funds for Compton will enable us to continue to provide care and support for our patients and their loves ones when they need it most.
