James has been involved in Fundraising and Marketing within the third sector for over 20 years; a passion that developed from volunteering with local charities and witnessing at first hand the crucial support they provide.
Starting out as a regional fundraiser building relationships directly within the local community, James became a talented multi-disciplinary fundraiser who has managed high performing teams delivering growth across all income streams.
Over the last 10 years, as well as rising to leadership roles within Fundraising and Marketing, James has established key skills, knowledge and experience which have helped to develop key organisational strategies and communications, policy and public affairs plans.
James has experience working for a wide range of charities where service provision has included health, support, care and education. He has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work for both small regional charities and large national organisations such as the Alzheimer’s Society, the RNLI, MacMillan Cancer Support and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
James joined Compton Care in March 2021 having spent the previous three years growing the annual income of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation UK where he was Director of Fundraising.
