Volunteer Receptionist (Compton Hall)

Location: Compton Hall

Our Main Reception is an extremely busy and critical department servicing all areas of Compton Care. Reception volunteers are the first point of contact for visitors both face to face and over the phone. Discretion is essential and the ability to multi-task is vital as it can be extremely busy and challenging at times.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming new patients on arrival at Main Reception
  • Greeting and accompanying relatives to the Inpatient Unit
  • Greeting professionals, tradespeople and other visitors
  • Handling enquiries from patients, visitors and staff
  • Ensuring all staff, volunteers and visitors sign inappropriately
  • Ensuring all visitors are issued with a visitor sticker
  • Processing donations confidently, competently and professionally
  • Accepting deliveries and informing the appropriate staff
  • Being professional and courteous at all times
  • Answering the telephone in a professional manner and refer calls appropriately
  • Working flexibly with other volunteers to provide a co-ordinated and professional service
  • Adhering at all times to the organisations policies, procedures and guideline

 Desired Qualifications/skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience of telephone call handling
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Good timekeeping and time management skills
