Head of Learning and Development Katherine Birch conducts a study day
**FULL** Focusing on Frailty

09am - Monday 21st January 2019, at Compton Care Learning and Development Centre

Please note that this workshop is full and a waiting list is in operation. Please email learning@comptoncare.org.uk if you wish to be added to the waiting list.

Aim:

Frail older people are affected by multiple, complex and prolonged health problems due to progressive decline in health and functioning. However, as noted by the WHO, many do not receive appropriate care in the last years of life.

This workshop draws on expertise from across a range of specialisms in order to explore some of the key palliative care challenges when caring for the frail older person. In particular the workshop enables participants to reflect on how these relate to their own circumstances, explores the interface between frailty and end of life care and looks at how a multidisciplinary approach is required to support those with frailty to live and die well.

Target audience:

Suitable for all health and social care professionals involved in caring for those with a life limiting illness, particularly frail, older people.

Cost:

£40.00

Venue:

Compton Care Learning and Development Centre
The Cedars
39 Compton Road West
