Clinical Leadership & Management Course (Palliative Medicine)

Clinical leadership and management is of growing importance to today’s doctors and tomorrow’s consultants. The challenges in healthcare now and over the coming years make it imperative that senior clinicians have the capability to develop new models of care, drive service redesign and improvement, lead others with creativity and consistency and work collaboratively with patients, commissioners and other professionals across health systems to design and deliver high quality care.

Our 3 day intensive course has been specifically designed for senior trainees working in palliative medicine and will support you in the transition to specialist practice at consultant level. Our highly interactive and challenging programme provides you with protected space to enhance your knowledge, skills and behaviours and covers a wide range of highly relevant topics, including:

  • The Landscape Of Care: Palliative Medicine In Context
  • Leadership Styles And How To Adapt
  • Emotional And Political Intelligence
  • The Enablers Of Effective Team Working
  • Managing And Leading Others For High Performance
  • Managing Time and Resources
  • Leading Change & Improvement
  • Moving into a Consultant Role: Insights and Reflections

 

Our Partnership:

Keele Clinical Leadership Academy programmes for Specialty Trainees are nationally renowned. The Academy has been working closely with Compton Care and St Richard’s Hospice to design a programme specifically for senior trainees in palliative medicine. The programme reflects key elements of the Management Section (Section 12) of the Specialty Training Curriculum for Palliative Medicine.

Target Audience:

The course is suitable for senior trainees working in palliative medicine, clinical fellows or those who have recently moved into a consultant role.

11th, 12th & 13th February 2019
