Advanced Communications Skills Training For Senior Healthcare Professionals

9am - Thursday 6th September 2018, at Compton Care Learning and Development Centre

Aim:

The importance of good communication in end of life care has been highlighted in successive reports, and this course has been established to enhance senior healthcare professionals’ abilities to deal with challenging communication situations.

The two-day course, which is facilitated by nationally accredited trainers, includes discussion of the research evidence surrounding communication in end of life care, interactive exercises and role-play in small groups with actors. Participants will practise skills and receive positive and constructive feedback in a safe and supportive environment. Participants are expected to take part in all aspects of the course and must attend both days.

Learning outcomes:

  • Increase awareness of your own communication skills and enhance interprofessional
    communication
  • Explore Strategies to improve quality of clinical communication and increase
    confidence in responding to difficult communication situations
  • Increase ability to deliver information effectively and explore decision making
    This course carries 12 CPD points from The Royal Colleges of Physicians.

Target audience:

Senior heathcare professionals.
