Memory Walk 2023

Memory Walk 2023 has now taken place. Thank you to everyone who took part. Join us again next year to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones. More details about the 2024 event will be posted soon.

Memory walk is back and we’re excited to welcome you to Chillington Hall on Sunday 17th September 2023. This will be our third Memory Walk to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones and to raise funds for patients and families currently being supported by our amazing team.

Last year, almost 400 people joined us on a chilly October morning for a tranquil 5km walk in the beautiful grounds of Chillington Hall and created wonderful memories as they celebrated the lives of family and friends that are no longer with us.

Memory Walk is open to all and everyone is welcome – not just those with a connection to Compton Care. During the walk, you will have the opportunity to stop for a peaceful moment at our Memory Station, an area created for people to reflect and remember their loved one. You will receive a memory tag that you can decorate and write messages on and place it at the memory station. After the event all memory tags are taken to the Garden of Reflection at Compton Hall, where they will be displayed for a few days. You are welcome to visit the Garden of Reflection if you wish.

You can also nominate a song for the memory playlist that will be played in the event village. This could be a favourite song of your loved one or one that brings back memories. After the event, you will receive a link to access the playlist.

Dogs are welcome – we just ask that they are kept on a lead at all times and that you clean up after him/her.

Compton Care has continued to support us as a family these last twelve months, so on the anniversary of dad’s passing, we will be supporting them by taking part in Memory Walk 2023.
