Carly Manning - Compton Care Modern Matron supports our #CMuchMore campaign

This is my second time at Compton. I did my nursing training here for five years from the year 2000 and returned in January 2019 to take on the role of Modern Matron. It’s a really exciting time to be part of the team as we implement a brand-new strategy to ensure that we are offering the very best in palliative care.

I am deeply passionate about Compton Care, after all, it’s where I started and has been the grounding for my career. I feel privileged to be able to help our patients and their families at what is such an important part of their journey.

Me and my family have had direct experience with the organisation too, as two of my family members have been cared for here. As a relative of a patient and a staff member I can honestly say that the fantastic care is evident every day.

When I’m not at Compton I am a part time paramedic which keeps me pretty busy! When I do find time to relax I like walking the dog and I love reading – mainly real-life stories which satisfies my nosey side. I love The Great British Bake Off and cooking too but unfortunately, I’m just not very good at it! I think a cake sale would be the perfect fundraiser.

Just like me you can turn your passions into pounds this summer and raise funds so that local people living with incurable conditions can access the support they need to live the best life possible.
