Mobile phone company donate handsets to charity

A Wolverhampton-based charity is delighted after receiving a donation for mobile phones for its Community Nursing Team.

Compton Care received 15 Nokia Lumia handsets from The Big Phone Store whose head office is based in Wednesfield.

The phones will be used by the charity’s Community Nursing team to help with their work when out and about in the local community visiting patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Raj Wagay from The Big Phone Store said: “We are happy to provide the handsets free of charge to support the great work that Compton’s Community Nurses do.

“The team at Compton Care do extraordinary work, offering much-needed care and assistance to those with complex and incurable conditions. This is an admirable cause and one that is important for us to support as a business with ties to the local community and also because some of our staff have family members with conditions like those that Compton Care helps with.”

Charlotte Lilley, PR & Marketing Officer at Compton added: “We are so grateful to The Big Phone Store for this very kind donation. These handsets will enable our Community Nurses to continue their fantastic work supporting patients and their loved ones in the community.”
