Claire, who originally hails from East Yorkshire, started her career in the charity sector over twenty years ago with a Sue Ryder Hospice in Leeds. Claire went on take up numerous fundraising and marketing roles in national healthcare charities including the RNIB and Cancer Research UK. Claire then progressed to Director and Deputy CEO Roles at the Air Ambulance and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice leading on NHS commissioning, clinical service design & transformation as well as Income Generation and PR & Marketing. Claire is passionate about Hospice Care having both personal and professional experience of Hospice care and was delighted to put this to the service of Compton Care, taking up her role as Chief Executive in March 2016.
Claire is a passionate advocate for volunteering, leading Compton’s team of 900 Volunteers and is a Volunteer herself as a Trustee for Groundwork UK.
Claire holds a Masters in Hospice Leadership from Lancaster University.
