How We’re Funded
To continue to offer care and support to patients and their families living with the effects of complex and incurable illnesses, it costs around £7.9million every year.
At Compton, we offer all of our services free of charge to those who need them, but to continue to do so, we need to raise around £5.3million.
Our annual running costs are around £7.9million every year, and we're extremely lucky to receive government funding for around one-third of this amount, but the remaining funding must be raised.
Without the dedication, generosity and support of people like you, we wouldn't be able to continue helping those that need us.
We're proud to have 27 charity shops across the Black Country, Wolverhampton, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire, and thanks to your support through donations and shopping, our shops raise over £1million, every year. Find your local charity shop here.
We run appeals, events and initiatives throughout the year, and we'd love for you to get involved. Whether you want to register for one of our events, hold your own, donate to our latest appeal or support one of our initiatives, your fundraising really does make a huge difference.
Whilst we're always grateful of monetary donations, we're extremely appreciative of our 850 volunteers, who each donate their valuable time to Compton, and in the process, save us over £1million in running costs. If you'd like to become a volunteer, browse our list of volunteer vacancies and get in touch.
Trusts, foundations and other grant makers are a hugely important source of funding for Compton Care. This type of donation has previously helped us to refurbish rooms, buy specialist equipment and pay for expertly skilled staff to deliver extraordinary care.
This invaluable support in the form of both one off grants and smaller, regular donations enables us to continue to support thousands of patients and their families throughout Wolverhampton, The Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire, every year.
Funding care now, and in the future
Donations of all sizes from charitable trusts, foundations and grants fund both stability and innovation. Without this funding we couldn’t provide care and support free of charge to those who need it most, or create new projects and developments enabling us to reach more patients, earlier on in their journey.
Recently we’ve funded the following through partnerships with charitable trusts, foundations and grant makers:
- Refurbishment of our 18 individual ensuite bedrooms
- Palliative Care and Heart Failure Project
- ATLAS Program (Supporting young people through loss and grief)
Thank you for your support
We recognise that you might want to see the difference that a grant has made to Compton and can provide you with a guided tour of the hospice, as well as details of where your donation will go, how it will help, and who will benefit from your support.
If you’re a Trustee or a representative of a Trust and are interested in supporting Compton Hospice, we’d love to hear from you.
