Care Quality Commission
As a healthcare provider, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, an independent regulator of health and social care in England. They ensure that the health and social care services that we provide to you are safe, effective and compassionate, and that our care is of a high quality.
The Care Quality commission also encourage the continuous improvement of care services. At Compton Care, we predominately cover the Wolverhampton area, reaching out to South Staffordshire, Dudley, Walsall, Sandwell and Shropshire and have:
- Community Nurse Team
- Hospice at Home Team
- In-patient Ward
- Day centre on-site which is registered for up to 16 patients per day
- Lymphoedema Clinic
We are pleased that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated Compton Care as Good across all services. The rating came after a three-day inspection in April 2016 when inspectors took time to speak with staff, volunteers, patients and families across all areas of the hospice.
The feedback was particularly positive with the inspectors saying:
“The staff team were highly qualified and experienced; people felt confident in the abilities and skills staff displayed and that they were well trained.”
“Peoples’ feedback was actively sought, encouraged and acted upon. People were overwhelmingly positive about the service they received.”
“Staff told us how proud they were of the work they did and the support they were able to provide to people.”
“People told us they felt fully involved in planning all aspects of their current and future care needs. They told us they were involved in all discussions about their care and treatment and were able to express their views, preferences and wishes in this regard and also in developing advance care plans.”
Rebecca Brown, Head of Quality and Compliance at Compton Hospice, said “This was a fantastic result which reflects the commitment and dedication of our entire team to deliver the very highest standards of care.”
